Geologia Croatica online

Original scientific papers dealing with every aspect of earth sciences are considered for publication in Geologia Croatica. Manuscripts should be written in English. A brief informative abstract of 50-300 words should be included. For Croatian authors an additional Abstract in Croatian may also be included.

Manuscripts. Two copies of the manuscript, each accompanied by copies of all illustrations should be sent to the Geologia Croatica, Croatian Geological Survey, Sachsova 2, P.O.Box 268, HR-10000 Zagreb, Croatia. They should be typed double spaced with ample margins. The title should be informative, but short, and should be followed by the complete author's First Name and Surname. The full postal and e-mail addresses of the author(s) should be given at the bottom of the first page. Every paper should include carefully chosen Key words proposed by the author. Please, add a CD-ROM with text saved in any major text processor and, if at all possible, digital versions of your figures (EPS and TIFF files only).

Genera and Species names. They should be written in italics, e.g. Chrysalidina gradata ORBIGNY.

Abbreviations and units. SI units are preferred. All measurements should always be given in figures, e.g. 12 m, except where the number begins the sentence. The word 'figure' should be shortened to 'Fig.' unless starting a sentence.

Illustrations. A high standard of illustration quality is desired. Each illustration must have a caption which makes the material completely understandable. Captions should be typed on separate sheets. Bar scales are preferred. All illustrations should be numbered and the author's name should be written on the back in pencil. The approximate position in the text should be indicated in the margin of the manuscript. The maximum size of plates is 175 x 255 mm. The maximum width of illustrations in the text (photographs, tables and drawings) is 80 mm (for one column) or 165 mm (for two columns). For more than three plates, please contact the editors!

References. They should be made by giving the author's name (in capital letters) with the year of publication in parentheses, i.e. JARVIS (1992) or FREY & PEMBERTON (1984). When reference is made to work by more than two authors, the first name should be followed by "et al.", e.g. CARLIER et al. (1982). If several papers by the same author and from the same year are cited, a, b, etc. should be put after the year of publication, e.g. JONES (1991b). Complete references should be listed in alphabetical order at the end of the paper (authors must provide English translations of article titles written in other languages), as in the following examples:
WILSON, J.L. (1975): Carbonate facies in geologic history.- Springer Verlag, Berlin, Heidelberg, New York, 471 p.

Proofs. Page proofs will be sent to the authors. They should be carefully read and returned within a week.

Offprints. Seventy offprints of each paper and one volume of the journal are supplied free of charge. Additional offprints may be ordered.
